The Westcountry Heritage Project is
a brand new initiative It's aim is to
document the traditional skills and way of life of
the English Westcountry before it disappears
forever under the burden on concrete and new
technology. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing
against new technology, in fact I use it every day
in my social and business life and for the benefit
of this project. Yet the best of the new can live
happily alongside the best of the old, it need not
and indeed should not be allowed to replace it.
Traditional crafts still exist here, not as
living history but because they still work.
This project needs input, your input. If
you practice a traditional skill or trade, are
involved in conservation and the protection of the
countryside, know some precious piece of folklore,
or are considered by your friends and neighbours
to be a bit of a character then please do get in
touch, I would love to tell your story.
All I need is an hour of your time (or a day or a
week) to take some photographs and record your
experiences.
Participating in the Westcountry Heritage Project
won't cost you a penny. No money changes hands.
This project if fully financed by advertising and
by the sale of the photographs on this website.
Everyone depicted in the photographs will receive
a free CD-Rom of images for their own interest and
use. |
