The Cotswold Way:
Two-way National Trail Description (British Long-distance Trails)

by
Kev Reynolds
The Ramblers Association and other keen advocates have lobbied for many years to have the special qualities of the Cotswold Way recognised officially. In 1988 the government approved its development as a National Trail. Subsequently work was done to improve the quality of the route and enhance the experience for walkers.

Development work has made sure that the walker is able to experience the best of the local area. Now less of the route passes along roads and the positions of road crossings have been improved.
